Mt. Hodosan Ropeway

It takes about five minutes to ascend the total length of 832 m from Sanroku Station to Sancho Station at the top of Mt. Hodosan.
The summit of Mt. Hodosan is colored with azaleas in spring, new green foliage in summer, red and yellow foliage in autumn, wintersweet and plum blossoms in winter.
The Summit offers a view of the surrounding townscape and mountains.

Renting a bicycle is the perfect way to see all the tourist attractions in Nagatoro.
You can see all the sights in Nagatoro in about a half a day of cycling.
These rental bicycles are equipped with an electric assist function to take you up slopes comfortably.
They are available at the Nagatoro Tourist Information Center.

SL Paleo Express

The SL Paleo Express is a steam locomotive, now a rare sight in Japan, that was built in 1944. Create wonderful memories of your trip to Nagatoro by experiencing travel that is different from a regular train.
Its service is mostly limited to Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from April to December.

∗To ride the steam locomotive, an SL reserved seat ticket is required in addition to a passenger ticket.
